Description
We are pleased to present the latest addition to our inventory – this very low mileage 1970 Jaguar E-Type Series 2 Roadster. This is a truly unique opportunity for the serious XKE collector to acquire a highly original E-Type with limited ownership and under 9,000 miles since new! It’s exceptionally rare to find a well-preserved, low-mileage example like this, making it a true time capsule from 1970 and a must-have for the discerning collector!
Our team performed an examination of the components and systems to determine the originality and verify the original low mileage of this incredibly preserved example. After the initial examination, the team began a preservation service to the XKE, which included a full service and cleaning to the Jaguar’s 4.2-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine to ensure peak performance, with no outstanding mechanical issues reported. Our team was impressed with the XKE’s performance and response after its first test drive – which was notably smooth and solid. On the inside of the E-Type, our master upholsterer installed newly trimmed leather sport seats, along with matching door panels, door sills, and carpet; in addition, we installed a new Everflux British grain black convertible top just as it came the factory.
This E-Type has many desirable Series 2 features including: combined shoulder and lap belts, original Series 2 Boot Cover in excellent condition, reclining Seats with headrests, Center Console, great instrumentation, and a telescopic wooden 3-spoke steering wheel. Don’t miss this opportunity to acquire a very low mileage original, well-maintained XKE roadster that would be a great addition to the seasoned or new classic Jaguar collector! Included with the XKE is the original owner’s manuals, toolkit, spare tire, a car cover, and a Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate of Authenticity.

History
The Series II XKE is very desirable because of its comfortable reclining seats as well as head rests that were adjustable for height, improved cooling system, and dual fans on the radiator. This is the end of the 6 cylinder XKE era. Leaping cat emblems were only placed on the side of the 1971 XKE bonnet and are a very unique addition and symbol of this series. While the Series II E-type was more radically altered than its interim predecessor, the essential construction remained the same and the body work differed only in detail. Modifications were made to the front of the bonnet, increasing the size considerably, the headlamp scoops were altered so that the inner walls now splayed inwards and the side/flasher were rather larger and positioned below the raised bumper. The vehicle also received heavier front bumper blades, motif bar, front and rear over-riders were changed, new square number plate at the rear, a different grille was used in the rear of the bonnet bulge, and the washer jets were finished in satin chrome to avoid the risk of dangerous reflections.
