1962 JAGUAR XKE FHC RHD

A CLASSIC SHOWCASE CLIENT RESTORATION

1962 XKE FHC RHD CHASSIS NO: 860714

This 1962 Jaguar XKE FHC is a right hand drive car that is in a sleek color combination of black and red from the factory, and has had only 2 owners since new. The 2nd owner, our customer, commissioned Classic Showcase to do a comprehensive restoration to his car for the 1st time. The owner had stored the E-Type away for many years, with the understanding of finding the right facility to take on the restoration of this magnitude. The car lived in England for many years, so it had a severe case of rust. We rotisserie-restored the body, and removed all the rust and replaced it with brand new sheet panels.  We staged the phases of restoration, and now we are just finishing up the car. It is a Driver level restoration in most respects, but the paint, body, and the interior were done more to a Show/Driver level, as well as the interior.

Being that the 2nd owner owned the car since the mid-1960s, he is very familiar with the automobile. He recently visited Classic Shoswcase, and had such excitement after seeing his XKE in a state of glory that it almost brought tears to his eyes. He has been overwhelmed with how we have prepared the car for him to his liking. This work will ensure that the FHC will live on in his family for many years to come. We are fortunate that he resides in North San Diego, so we will see the car from time to time. We hope you enjoy seeing the finished photos of the early 3.8 XKE in its original color combination with the matching numbers engine.
