1959 JAGUAR XK150 S DHC

CLIENT RESTORATION

About THE Jaguar

This 1959 Jaguar XK-150 S DHC has been in the current owner’s possession since the late 1960s and has been in need of a restoration for more than 30 years. The collector had contemplated getting the restorative work done for many years, and finally did his research both on and offline before choosing Classic Showcase to perform the work. The client and his wife are excited about the project, and are eager to not only drive the car, but also campaign it at local Concours events.

ARRIVAL to CLASSIC SHOWCASE

The client had several specific requests on the restoration build – one of which was a power steering system for improved handling and a smoother driving experience for the collector and his wife – who also wishes to drive and enjoy the Jaguar! Our team of restoration craftsmen were happy to oblige, by adding an EZ electric power steering system to the build, just one of several collector-requested upgrades to this XK-150 S. Our team has also added: a 5-speed transmission, spin-on oil filter, electronic ignition, adjustable shocks, a stainless-steel exhaust system and heat-treated manifolds.

FINISHEd PAINT Gallery

Body and paintwork is near completion, and we have wet sanded and buffed the body to a beautiful finish – using the same original color scheme when the car was delivered new back in 1959. We are now in the process of assembling parts on the body of the car – which includes installing a new wire harness before we begin installing the XK-150 S’s body back to its frame. We have also just recently ordered (5) 16-inch period-correct black wall radial tires, which will be eventually joined to a new set of Dayton chrome wire wheels. This wonderful example will be elevated to our show/driver level and make a wonderful contender for not only the show field, but on the collector’s favorite roads and highways. Stay tuned to our Summer newsletter for an exciting update on this classic Jaguar client build!
