A CLASSIC SHOWCSE RESTORATION
In our quest to have one of the rarest classic Jaguar models – the Jaguar XKSS - our team has begun the restoration process to this special car. We are looking to create one of the best looking, running, and performing cars ever, and are excited to take on such a unique Jaguar build such as this. The car features an all-aluminum body and parts, and will be powered by a 3.4 liter XK MC C-Type engine with a Red head.
The build has come a long way since our last newsletter update in the Fall of 2021, and the example is scheduled to be completed well before year's end! When completed, the XKSS will serve as a finished example of what we can achieve with our modified restoration services! Stay tuned to our Fall 2022 for an update to this exciting and unique restoration project!
Our team has moved the car into our assembly area, where they are busy getting all the car’s parts and components to perfectly fit; earlier in the spring we ordered a set of Smith instruments directly from England and have installed them, while our trimmer has been making all the interior components fit into the car as well. Once this initial phase of assembly is complete and the team ensures that the best possible fit has been made, they will disassemble everything in the car to get it prepped for painting, wet sanding, and buffing - then reassemble everything all over again!
On the mechanical side of things, the team has installed and is fine-tuning all the XKSS’s mechanical systems and stands ready to install each of these components back into the car once its body and paintwork is completed. The restoration has been conducted on a very relaxed schedule (hence our lack of updates since the Fall ’21), as our customer restoration projects & servicing take priority; having said that, we have had such a tremendous demand for such builds that we have already acquired a second left-hand-drive XKSS that can be built to whatever specifications a client may desire.
