CLIENT RESTORATIONS

A follow-up on one of our most exciting projects...

ABOUT THE RESTORATION:

As discussed in our previous newsletter, this 1956 Ford F100 has been an incredible and exciting build not only for the client, but for our entire team. We have been recreating a Truck that our collector client once owned and restored with his father many years ago. Since our last newsletter, we have made continued progress in the areas of assembly, and the truck is finally close to completion! The restoration of this F100 has been an extremely custom project, and everything needs to be exact.

CURRENT PROGRESS:

Since our last issue, our team has diligently continued to work on this amazingly special build and have recently installed Dynamat sound deadening on the truck floor and firewall. We have fabricated and installed the door panels and made a special pattern on the kick panels that ties it all together to match the theme throughout the truck. It is stitched in a red thread throughout the vehicle and designed to match the exterior color of the truck. We then added fabricated stainless-steel door and kick panel moldings in order to break-up the leather to the carpet located on the bottom portion of the doors and kick panels, producing an aesthetically pleasing look. Our team made these on our lathe out of raw stainless stock, and then polished them and installed them to the truck.

We are also in the process of installing custom German-weaved carpet with cloth binding, which compliments the beautiful tan leather upholstery, and has a great look – tying in all of the chrome on the truck to produce a striking look. In the last newsletter we spoke about the air conditioning system which has now been completed, and have since added custom, stainless braided lines for the A/C, fuel, oil, power steering, and water systems, which also nicely compliment the overall look of the Ford. The team has also mounted a power steering tank and had a custom-made Clear bra added to the hood, front and rear fenders, and rocker entrances to protect the truck’s exterior paint finish. We are in the process of fabricating a special hinge locking & release system that will enable one to easily open and close the tailgate. Our master tech is also in the process of checking all systems, adding fluids to the engin and transmission, and preparing the truck for its first startup. Our master trimmer is also in the process of installing the bench seat and then the seatbelts, and finally will install the under-dash panel. Stay tuned to our Spring 2022 issue for the final update on this truly one-of-a-kind custom Ford truck build!
