Description
(SOLD) This is an original, 53,000 low mileage E-type that has only had two owners since new. It has always been well serviced and maintained and has maintenance and service receipts dating back to the first owner, an airline pilot. It has recently completed a restoration by Classic Showcase. The restoration process included, body work and fit, complete repaint, color sand and buff in its original color of Willow Green, reupholstering in Biscuit the leather seats, new leather console, new door panels and new carpet as well as headliner. New rubber, new seals and hardware were also installed as needed. The Brite work was re-plated. The car features factory air conditioning and chrome wire wheels and received a recent, full mechanical service including tune up, oil change, a full vehicle detail inside and out and much more. This is a great example with very honest low mileage, in a beautiful original color combination and would serve as a great driver.
History
While the Series II E-type was more radically altered than its interim predecessor, the essential construction remained the same and the body work differed only in detail. Modifications were made to the front of the bonnet, increasing the size considerably, the headlamp scoops were altered so that the inner walls now splayed inwards and the side/flasher were rather larger and positioned below the raised bumper. The vehicle also received heavier front bumper blades, motif bar, front and rear overrides were changed, new square number plate at the rear, a different grille was used in the rear of the bonnet bulge, and the washer jets were finished in satin chrome to avoid the risk of dangerous reflections. Reclining seats were fitted to the Series II cars as well as head rests that were adjustable for height.
