1970 Jaguar XKE XKE Series 2 4.2 FHC

(SOLD) This unmolested 1970 Jaguar E-Type 4.2-liter Fixed Head Coupe offered here was a true original example of perhaps the most recognizable Jaguar to date. The car was originally purchased new and enjoyed by the late, famed Los Angeles-based architect Edward H. Fickett of Beverly Hills, California. Mr. Fickett, known for his many prodigious works of architecture, garaged the E-Type in 1990 with only 11,254 miles on the odometer and it reflected this virtual time-warp originality and condition. Upon our inspection the E-type’s coachwork appeared all-original throughout and showed a lovely patina matched by the correct original interior. With little-to-no rust present, the Jaguar was an ideal restoration candidate.

This coupe has recently benefited from a comprehensive restoration to a Show/Driver level by marquee specialists, Classic Showcase of Oceanside, CA. The car was disassembled, the paint was stripped, it was body worked, metal finished and fitted prior to a complete repaint, all body parts were painted separately off the car, it was then wet sand and buffed, and all parts were painted separately off the car. The brite work has been replated, the instruments were restored; a new exhaust system, new battery, new rubber seals and grommets, and new wire loom were all installed. The engine, head, and transmission were all completely rebuilt to factory specifications. All systems were gone through, including the brake, fuel, electrical and hydraulic systems, and were restored, or replaced, as needed. Their master upholsterers completely retrimmed the car in all the proper materials. This beauty comes with only 100 test miles since the completion of the final test driving and sorting. This is a unique opportunity to carry on the legacy of this single owner E-Type Fixed Head Coupe. A DVD of the restoration process accompanies the car.
