Description
This alloy-bodied 2009 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas is an exceptionally low-mileage, two-owner California example showing just 31,000 miles from new. As one of Jaguar’s flagship luxury sedans of the era, the Vanden Plas combines traditional British craftsmanship, refined luxury, and effortless grand-touring performance.
Originally carrying an MSRP of $83,350 when new, as documented by its original window sticker, this XJ was very well equipped from the factory and represents one of the most luxurious configurations offered in Jaguar’s 2009 sedan lineup.
Powered by Jaguar’s naturally aspirated 4.2-liter V8 and paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the Vanden Plas delivers smooth, responsive performance while retaining the quiet, composed character expected of a top-tier Jaguar luxury sedan.
This California car has had just two owners from new and has reportedly been consistently serviced throughout its life. Prior to being offered for sale, Classic Showcase will perform a comprehensive service and inspection, addressing the vehicle as necessary to ensure it is properly sorted and ready for its next owner!
History
The 2009 Jaguar XJ Vanden Plas represents one of the final and most refined versions of Jaguar’s X350/X358-generation flagship sedan. Introduced with an advanced aluminum-intensive body structure, the XJ combined significantly reduced weight with improved rigidity, performance, and efficiency while retaining the elegant proportions and traditional styling cues long associated with Jaguar’s luxury saloons. In Vanden Plas specification, the XJ emphasized comfort and craftsmanship, offering an especially well-appointed interior with premium leather, extensive wood trim, and a high level of standard equipment. Powered by Jaguar’s smooth 4.2-liter V8 and paired with a 6-speed automatic transmission, the 2009 Vanden Plas blended traditional British luxury with thoroughly modern engineering, making it one of the most sophisticated interpretations of the classic XJ formula.
