Description

This 1961 Jaguar Mark II is a collector-owned example that features a numbers-matching engine, head and block. It is finished in an elegant color combination of Old English White over a striking red interior, and features a recently installed Webasto sliding sunroof, adding to the charm and open-air enjoyment of this classic British sporting sedan. The Mark II also features a period push-button AM radio and is accompanied by a tool kit. The Jaguar Mark II remains an enduring icon of British motoring and popular culture, celebrated for its timeless styling, spirited performance, and prominent role in the immensely popular British detective series "Inspector Morse", which aired on the BBC TV Network from 1987 to the year 2000. Beyond its elegant appearance and television fame, the Mark II also enjoyed a distinguished competition history in touring-car racing and rally events, further establishing its reputation as one of Jaguar's most celebrated sporting sedans.
Classic Showcase has scheduled a comprehensive series of cosmetic and mechanical improvements to prepare the Jaguar to a high-end driver standard. Planned enhancements include a repaint in Old English White, refinishing of the interior wood trim, improvements to the brightwork, new rear window rubber, felt window liners, and a replacement antenna. The team will also service the mechanical systems and suspension, rebuild the steering system, and perform a thorough cleaning and detailing of the engine compartment and undercarriage. Our upholstery department is making a new proper Hardura trunk mat for the boot, and will complete the luggage compartment as well. With its attractive color combination, distinguished styling, and Classic Showcase's planned improvements and attention to detail, this Mark II promises to be an appealing example of Jaguar's iconic sporting sedan, well-suited for weekend drives, local automotive events, and the enthusiast who appreciates classic British motoring.

Popular as getaway cars, they were also employed by the Police to patrol British motorways. This beautiful MK II belonged to a Jaguar collector whom had many exceptional Jaguars in his collection. This collector took pride and joy in all of his Jaguars.
