SAN DIEGO JAGUAR CLUB
CONCOURS d'ELEGANCE

The Annual SDJC Concours returned to Spanish Landing Park
this year, and our team was there!

CANCER SURVIVOR'S PARK at SPANISH LANDING
SAN DIEGO, CA 7/9/22

The 58th annual Concours d’Elegance of the San Diego Jaguar Club was held on Saturday, July 9th, 2022. This year's event was held at Cancer Survivor's Park, and marked a return to Spanish Landing! With the help of board and numerous Club members, the show was once again a resounding success. All of the freshly detailed Jaguars looked stunning on the show field, with some tough competition to be found. This year’s event was a success thanks to all the hard work of Club Members, the Chief Judges, along with the many members who continually volunteer their time and energy to make an event like this happen. Other clubs from the Southern California region took part in the event as well, including the Inland Empire Club and Jaguar Owner's Club of Los Angeles, as well as members from as far away as the San Francisco Jaguar Club.

CONCOURS ARRIVAL

Chief Judge Dave Allen officially opened the event at 9:30am with a judges meeting. Rags Down was announced at 10:00 am and judging commenced. The Los Angeles, San Diego, and Inland Empire clubs have always worked well together when it comes to providing judges for our respective Concourses, and this day was no exception...

There was a total of 53 entrants - 22 of the cars were judged, with the remainder being shown on display.

As with most Jaguar-themed Concours events, there was a wonderful variety of examples from different eras of the marque, from classic XKEs to the modern F-Types, there was a little something to be enjoyed by the classic, as well as the new Jaguar faithful! The following models of Jaguars were present at this year's event: XK-140, E-Type, Mark II, XJ6, XJ8, XJS, XK, XK8, XKR, XJ, XF, S-Type, X-Type, F-Type, F-Pace, and the C-Type Replica.

JUDGING TOM KREFETZ'
MODIFIED 1964 JAGUAR E-TYPE

Tom Krefetz with his 1964 XKE FHC, after attaining a perfect score of 10.00 in S2/MOD (modified) class competition. This was Tom's second showing of the car since wrapping up its restoration, and the second first place showing for the Coupe since debuting in competition at the Jaguar Owner's Club Concours in Los Angeles earlier in the year: "I've just been enjoying driving an E-Type with such distinct personality and have no desire to make it a trailer queen" Tom remarked after the Concours.

All in all, the day was filled with an eclectic selection of both classic and new Jaguars, warm breezes and sunshine, along with great comradery amongst the participants and spectators held at a wonderful location on the bay. We hope to see you and yours at next year's San Diego Jaguar Club's Concours d'Elegance!
