COVENTRY FOUNDATION

The Coventry Foundation Board of Directors have been  active in the previous quarter and have been working on acquiring new patrons to the Foundation, as well as receiving generous donations such as automobiles, parts, and memorabilia. Currently, the Foundation’s Board is in the process of reviewing new endowments for students who are seeking a formal education in automotive restoration and repair…in addition, the Board has also been working closely with the Jaguar Clubs of North America and all of its clubs spread out all over the country, with a goal of attracting Jaguar Clubs, as well as their members. Classic Showcase encourages both serious Jaguar collectors as well as enthusiasts to become patrons of the Foundation. Please visit coventryfoundation.org to become a patron today!

In the news:
THE FOUNDATION WELCOMES OUR
NEWEST SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT!

Say “hello” to Jason Wollerman, the Coventry Foundation’s most recent scholarship recipient at the Penn State College of Technology. Through the efforts of the Foundation, the generosity of JCNA Club, Patrons, Individuals, and businesses’ annual contributions, an endowment has been established at “PCT” to help fund the next generation of technicians to service and restore our Jaguars.

RECENT DONATIONS

While I am sure most of you are no strangers to Jaguar Restoration this is a new challenge for the Foundation. This NY auto show display was saved for the Foundation by Gary Kincel with the help of Fred Hammond. Stored for many years in Brooklyn, NY and time did it no favors. The frame was un-painted steel and so quite rusty. It has been cleaned and liberal amounts of POR 15 applied.. We have decided to use a different type of wrap on the frame that is lighter and more durable than original--"upgrade"! The Jaguar is a different story. It is two parts and must be reconnected and painted. Initially we thought storage had disturbed the seams but after review it was simply poorly connected and cracks can be seen in the photos of it being used at the auto show. We will also install some sort of removable lifting eye as the damage seems to have come from the mating process with the frame. This is not the size of the Leapers dealers had years ago--it is HUGE as you can see it is as long as our 140 FHC. The last pic we could use some help with. As you know we loan tools and two of the most loaned are the Spring Compressors and the hub removal tools. We need to find a great machinist that can restore these. They all use ACME threads and need to be straightened and chased. The hub pullers were thought to be lost but watching some shops on You Tube provides anyth9ing can be repaired---but they are all in India! So feel free to PM us if you know of a real machinist ---or you are one! Thans and enjoy!

 BECOME A FOUNDATION PATRON

You too can become a Patron of the Foundation today by making a donation by either check, donating a classic Jaguar vehicle, parts or Jaguar memorabilia. The Foundation has been created by passionate Jaguar people who donate their time, resources, and services with the goal of better serving the Jaguar Heritage and preserving the marque for future generations. We aim to leave a legacy for our children’s children so that they will be able to appreciate and continue with the work that we started. The foundation is anticipating opening museums, where Jaguar cars, books, memorabilia, and related material will be housed and viewed by the public. We are requesting that JCNA members donate any classic Jaguar related items they can to help form these new museums.
