The restoration began with the body stripped to bare metal and mounted on a rotisserie before being metal finished, carefully fitted, prepared, painted, and brought through final assembly. Inside, the owner selected a custom Suede Green interior crafted in premium Connolly leather sourced from England, complemented by a matching wool headliner, coordinating vinyl and moquette trim, Wilton wool carpeting, clamshell bucket seats, and a three-piece alloy dashboard inspired by the earliest E-Types. Mechanically, the original 4.2-liter engine was fully rebuilt, while the fuel, cooling, electrical, hydraulic, suspension, and braking systems were comprehensively restored and sorted. Thoughtful upgrades include an alloy radiator with auxiliary cooling fan, adjustable shock absorbers, heavy-duty torsion bars, a quartz clock conversion, and a discreet RetroSound digital audio system. With the major restoration work now complete, our team is concentrating on final road testing, adjustments, fitment checks, and sorting before delivery. The finished Coupe was conceived not as a dedicated concours car, but as a beautifully restored E-Type meant to be driven and enjoyed, combining early-Series I visual character with the refinement and usability of the later 4.2-liter Coupe.
