1971 Jaguar XKE Client Restoration

Spring 2023 Progress Update

About the Jaguar and its restoration

A Jaguar enthusiast in Las Vegas, Nevada is fulfilling a lifelong dream by purchasing an XKE from us, and then commissioning our team to perform a full show/driver level restoration. This iconic British sports car will feature a British Racing Green exterior with a Tan interior color combination, which is a popular choice among classic Jaguar enthusiasts all over the world. The client had always wanted to own an E-Type, but was unable to do so when younger; Now, he has the means to own one and is having our team restore it his way at our facility. We are happy to meet his vison and set forth to create his dream car!

Spring 2023 Restoration Update

The project has been mostly a stock restoration, but the client requested several upgrades to make the car his own. One of the cosmetic upgrades included creating a soft cloth top - which many consider to be a more elegant and aesthetically pleasing option than the stock vinyl top. The client also chose to remove the luggage rack that was on the boot lid - a dealer option at the time - to enhance the car's aesthetics and bring out the spectacular lines of the car. Dependability is a top priority for the client, especially for the warm climate of Las Vegas, where temperatures can soar over 100 degrees during the summer. To ensure that the car can be driven comfortable, our team has fully rebuilt the roadster's air conditioning system, as well as installing an alloy radiator with dual fans for improved cooling. These improvements are just some of the examples that our craftsmen can acheive by not only meeting a client's specifc goal, but improving the car as a whole and in turn creating a vehicle that some would say surpasses the original.

In regards to the client's British Racing Green finished roadster: Jaguar's British Racing Green is a classic color for their automobiles, but it's not a simple, uniform shade of green. There are actually several different tints of British Racing Green paint, each with its own unique variation of the color. Some are darker, with more blue or black undertones, while others are lighter with yellow or gold undertones. The exact shade can vary depending on the manufacturer and the specific car model. Despite the differences, all of the tints of British Racing Green are highly sought after by Jaguar enthusiasts for their iconic and classic appearance.  For this particular XKE restoration the client chose the darker,  black-tinted version of  British Racing Green.

This Jaguar E-Type will not only be a source of pride for the client but will also serve as a reminder of the timeless beauty and elegance of British sports cars. Stay tuned to our Summer 2023 newsletter for an update on the progress on this XKE restoration!
