This coupe began its transformation with a full bare-metal strip-down, followed by detailed metal finishing, leadwork, and precise panel alignment. It was mounted on a rotisserie for full accessibility, allowing our team to address every inch of the bodywork with the kind of attention that defines our Show/Driver standard. All trim components and brightwork were test-fitted and aligned before moving into the paint booth. The car received a multi-stage paint process including primer, sealer, base, and clear coats. Final color sanding and buffing brought out a deep, uniform finish in Opalescent Green a color that highlights the E-Type’s flowing lines and classic proportions to perfection...
The interior is being designed to blend period-correct aesthetics with performance comfort. Custom bucket seats are being installed—offering improved bolstering and long-haul support—while the cabin is being fully re-trimmed in high-quality Tan materials tailored to the car’s original Series 1 configuration. The alloy dashboard will be fitted with Series 1-style instruments, giving the interior a more classic, focused appearance. A custom sound system and full sound-deadening insulation are being integrated for both comfort and usability, while maintaining the clean, purposeful character of the E-Type’s original cockpit. The goal is to create an environment that’s engaging for spirited driving, but still refined enough for touring and show presentation.
This E-Type’s greatest strength lies beneath the surface. At the heart of the build is a triple-Weber carburetor setup paired with a 1-2-3 electronic ignition system—delivering responsive throttle, improved combustion efficiency, and smoother high-RPM performance. A 5-speed transmission replaces the factory unit, offering tighter shifts and improved cruising capability. The car’s cooling system has been upgraded with an aluminum radiator and auxiliary fan, while a gear reduction starter adds modern reliability. To manage the additional performance, Wilwood brakes provide enhanced stopping power, and a full 2-inch stainless steel sport exhaust system paired with custom headers unleashes a richer, more aggressive tone. Additional enhancements include center-laced wire wheels and suspension upgrades to ensure road manners match the powertrain improvements. These components work in concert to give the car sharper feedback, better control, and a more engaging driving experience without compromising the E-Type’s original feel.
As the restoration entered the assembly phase, our team fitted each component with care to ensure all systems integrate seamlessly. The custom A/C system, wiring, electronics, drivetrain, and exhaust components were installed in a staged sequence, with clearances, torque specs, and alignments confirmed at every step. Each element from switchgear to linkage to final chrome fitment is being reviewed and adjusted to ensure it meets the standards expected of a car that performs as well as it looks. Attention is being paid to panel fitment, hardware finish, and system interaction to ensure seamless operation across all major components. It’s during this phase that the E-Type begins to transform from concept to reality and this build is shaping up to be one of the most distinctive we’ve completed to date!
