1967 Jaguar XKE 2+2

A Classic Showcase restoration in process, soon to be available!

About the Jaguar and its restoration

We have been sharing this 1967 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 restoration in previous newsletters, and we are pleased to provide an update on its progress. The project is coming together nicely as the car moves through the final stages of its comprehensive restoration, and we look forward to seeing it completed well before the Spring 2026 driving season!

This 1967 Jaguar E-Type 2+2 is a highly original, numbers-matching example, with a scant two-owner history. It was delivered new in France and came equipped with unique European details such as amber lenses, a speedometer in kilometers, and other features not seen on U.S. delivered examples. After its first owner brought the car to Southern California, it remained in his possession for a numbers of decades before Classic Showcase acquired it. We were drawn to the example by its high degree of originality and long term single ownership history.

Body & Paint

The E-Type has been undergoing a comprehensive, show-level restoration. The body was stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, and carefully metal-finished, leaded, and test-fitted with all panels and chrome prior to receiving its stunning Silver Blue finish, as documented by the Jaguar Heritage Trust Certificate. The paintwork has been taken through primer, sealer, base and clear coats, then color-sanded and polished to concours standards.

The 2+2 will also receive a completely new custom tailored and fit Dark Blue interior crafted by our Master Trimmer using the correct and proper materials. This includes new seats, door panels, center console, and rear luggage area panels, along with new carpet and sound deadening for sound insulation. The dashboard and interior components are being refinished to factory specs, and the instruments, switches, and controls will also be restored or replaced as needed.

Mechanical & Assembly Gallery

Mechanically, the original engine, transmission, rear end, and suspension are being fully rebuilt back to factory specifications. All major components including the carbs, cooling, hydraulic, electrical, and fuel systems have been restored and/or replaced where needed. The 2+2's engine block has been hot tanked, line bored, and magnafluxed, with new pistons, rings, bearings, valves, guides, seals, and timing components installed along with a rebuilt head and clutch system.

When finished, this rare European-spec E-Type 2+2 will be ready well ahead of the Spring 2026 driving season. For information on availability and to discuss acquisition details, please contact our sales department at Classic Showcase!
