BRITISH CAR DAY
British classic car owners and enthusiasts converged at Coronado this past August for a special yearly event - British Car Day. Numerous California car clubs unite for this special occasion, which extends invitations to British-specific groups such as MG, Jaguar, Rolls-Royce, Triumph, and many other famous English marques. The cars are thoughtfully organized into categories based on their respective marques, creating an impressive display of British automotive history. The event takes place in the picturesque setting of Coronado in San Diego. Tom and the team from Classic Showcase made the quick drive south from Oceanside in our modified 1964 Jaguar E-Type coupe to the event, and it received a very positive response from attendees who appreciated the restored example, and the numerous aesthetic and mechanical customizations made to it. The show provided wonderful sights of nearly 400 British cars gathered in one place, drawing great crowds of admirers from al over the region! All British car owners were welcomed to participate, and the weather was nearly perfect on the day of the event. There was a great turnout, attracting enthusiasts of all ages, as well as various vendors. It truly is a fantastic annual gathering for the San Diego region, and provides a great venue to spend the day among British automotive enthusiasts.
