1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE
ROADSTER

CLIENT SERVICE RECAP

It is exciting when we see original, single-family owned classic Jaguars and have an opportunity to wake them and bring them back to their glory; we also strive to ensure that the car remains a dependable driver and is aesthetically improved. The owner of this XKE’s father purchased the car new in California, and the car has remained in Southern California ever since. The son said that he enjoyed riding in the car when he was young and noted that his father really enjoyed driving it; the E-Type is full of those kinds of memories and is the reason why it has stayed in the family for so many years. Originally, the owner’s father had planned to purchase a Chevy Camaro, but also had his eye on XKEs, but after much thought, he chose to purchase the XKE - and it has shown to be a great choice that has turned into a great investment.

MECHANICAL SERVICE WORK

Now that the son has become the caretaker of the car, he commissioned Classic Showcase to wake it up - which included a full vehicle inspection, then going through the car’s fuel, hydraulic, cooling, and electrical systems to bring everything up to date. After we completed these services, we improved the aesthetics; the paint on the roadster was very “flat” in appearance, but a good compound and buff performed by our body men enhanced the look of the car a great deal. We also installed (4) new mounted and balanced tires to the XKE, which combined with the freshened-up body created a nice look. Our team then moved on to aesthetically improving the car’s interior, and finally restoring the top bows and installing a new top boot to the roadster. Classic Showcase was delighted to have freshened up the Roadster for the family, and hopes the car will stay in the family for decades to come!
