A Classic Showcase Restoration
The restoration began with a complete teardown, stripping
the car to bare metal and placing it on a rotisserie for precise metal
finishing and leading. Every body panel and chrome component has been expertly
fitted, and the car has been prepared for primer and sealer. Soon, it will
receive a stunning Metallic Silver finish, which will be beautifully
complemented by a newly trimmed Dark Blue interior crafted from premium
materials by our master trimmer.
Our technicians have rebuilt the 3.8-liter engine, which
will undergo testing on our engine station before installation, and the
original transmission is being upgraded to a modern 5-speed for improved
drivability. We are also rebuilding and upgrading key systems, including the
fuel, electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems, while re-plating chrome
components as needed to ensure the car’s brilliance matches its performance.

The list of enhancements includes air conditioning, an alloy
radiator with an auxiliary fan, sound-deadening materials for a quieter ride, a
gear reduction starter, a stainless steel exhaust system, and a period-correct
Retrosound stereo with Bluetooth functionality. The car will ride on chrome
wire wheels equipped with five Vredestein tires, and its wooden interior
components have been fully restored to their original beauty.
This 1964 Jaguar Mark 2 represents the perfect blend of

example to drive, show, and enjoy. Stay tuned for progress updates and a
special video documenting the entire restoration journey.
Adhering to William Lyons' maxim of "grace, pace and space", the Mark II
was a beautiful, fast and capable saloon car. It came with a 2.4 L, 3.4
L or 3.8 L Jaguar XK6 engine. The 3.8 is similar to the unit used in
the 3.8 E-Type (XKE), having a different inlet manifold and carburetion
(two SUs versus three on the E-Type in Europe) and therefore 30 bhp
less. The head of the six cylinder engine in the E-Type was also
different with its "straight port" layout as opposed to the slightly
curved ports of the Mark II. The Mark II model was raced successfully in
the European Touring Car Championship.
