A Classic Showcase restoration.
Finished in a vibrant, modern Porsche “Shark Blue” with a stock Black interior, this car is a show-driver-level restoration that stands out in every way. The Porsche is powered by a rebuilt 2.2L Porsche 911 6-cylinder engine paired with an upgraded 5-speed Porsche 901 Sideshift transmission, ensuring powerful performance and smooth handling. Its transformation includes steel, welded-on GT flares, a Willwood big brake system, factory Fuchs Turbo wheels, and more—all working in harmony to deliver an exhilarating driving experience.
Every detail of this restoration was executed with precision and care. The journey began with a complete disassembly and cataloging of all parts, followed by a bare-metal strip-down to provide a clean slate. Upgrades include a custom 914-6 oil tank, Weber carburetors, a brand-new wire harness, 911 engine mounts, and new trim and brightwork throughout. The hydraulic system was thoughtfully upgraded with larger rotors for improved braking response, while fresh Pirelli tires ensure peak performance both on the track and the road.
Inside, the restoration stayed true to the car’s stock roots while incorporating thoughtful enhancements. Rebuilt 914-6 instruments, a 914-6 speedometer and tachometer, and a period-correct Blaupunkt “Frankfurt” AM-FM stereo system provide authenticity and functionality. Sound-deadening material was also added to improve driving comfort by reducing noise and heat, making this Porsche as enjoyable to drive as it is to admire.

Porsche sought to downplay Volkswagen’s involvement with the higher
performance (and higher priced) 914/6 models that were to be sold in the
United States at a premium, and as such, 914-6 models with the unique
dual-branded Porsche VW badge were not sold in the U.S., and instead
limited to the European market. Our examples are the cars with the
rare dual branded Porsche VW badge, and we are pleased to offer them to
Porsche collectors who are in search of a highly unique sports cars!
The Porsche 914 was introduced in September 1969 as a collaborative
effort between Porsche and Volkswagen to produce a sporty car. The car
they came up with was a mid-engined vehicle with seating for two and
featured a Targa top. A 4-cylinder boxer engine provided the power.
Volkswagen needed a vehicle to replace the aging Karmann-Ghia while
Porsche was looking for another option to add to their lineup. The car
sits low and the suspension was a combination of a 911-type torsion bar
front suspension with a rear coil spring suspension. The headlights hide
in the hood and pop-up when needed. The Targa top can be stored in the
trunk.
