International Concourse de Elegance
Jaguar Club Mexico

APRIL 18-26, 2026

Set against the breathtaking mountain backdrop of Las Caballerizas in Huixquilucan, just outside Mexico City, the XXXVIII Gran Concurso Internacional de Elegancia once again brought together collectors, enthusiasts, and historic automobiles from throughout North America for one of Mexico's premier automotive events. Organized by Club Jaguar Mexico and sanctioned by the Jaguar Clubs of North America (JCNA), the concours has evolved into the largest and most prestigious automotive gathering in Mexico, attracting hundreds of vehicles representing nearly every era of motoring history.

Held on the grounds of a former polo field at an elevation of approximately 8,200 feet above sea level, Las Caballerizas provides one of the most unique concours settings anywhere in the collector car world. Surrounded by rolling hills, pine-covered mountains, and traditional Mexican architecture, the venue offers an elegant backdrop perfectly suited to the remarkable automobiles displayed throughout the weekend.

As always, Jaguar automobiles remained one of the focal points of the weekend four our team and friends. Club Jaguar Mexico enjoyed an excellent turnout of members displaying and judging a diverse cross-section of Jaguars, including E-Types, XK models, saloons, and modern performance examples. The event provided enthusiasts with an opportunity to appreciate both meticulously restored concours cars and well-preserved originals representing the rich heritage of the marque.

The festivities begin well before the public arrives. On Friday, participating clubs position their vehicles on the field and gather for a club luncheon, setting the stage for a busy weekend of judging, social activities, and camaraderie. Saturday morning begins with breakfast and preparations for the day's activities before certified and apprentice judges gather for the official judges' meeting. From there, judging commences across the concours field as teams evaluate vehicles for authenticity, condition, presentation, and overall excellence.

T om was once again on hand for the festivities, continuing a tradition that spans many years. A longtime supporter of the event and active participant within the Jaguar hobby, Tom always looks forward to returning to Mexico and reconnecting with the many friends and enthusiasts he has come to know throughout North America. He also participated in concours judging duties, helping evaluate many outstanding automobiles while contributing to the integrity and traditions that have long defined the concours experience.

One of the highlights of the weekend is Sunday's awards ceremony, where class winners from participating clubs are recognized before the top vehicles advance for consideration in the major awards categories. From these finalists, a distinguished panel of judges selects the event's highest honors, including Best American, Best European, and ultimately Best of Show. The awards presentation remains one of the most anticipated moments of the weekend, celebrating the dedication and craftsmanship required to preserve and restore these remarkable automobiles.

The 1930 Cadillac V-8 Convertible Coupe stole the spotlight at the 38th Gran Concurso Internacional de Elegancia in Mexico City, capturing the ultimate Best of Show and Best American Car awards. Celebrated by judges for its museum-quality preservation, this pre-war masterpiece perfectly showcases the peak of American automotive luxury from the art deco era. Its commanding stance, signature chrome grille, and smooth V-8 engineering stood out among hundreds of elite entrants at Las Caballerizas. Ultimately, the Cadillac's flawless elegance secured its victory in a tense final showdown against Italy's finest coachwork, cementing its place as the crown jewel of the 2026 concours.

1951 Fiat 1400 Ghia Supergioiello: The Fiat 1400 Ghia Supergioiello was a showstopper at the 38th Gran Concurso Internacional de Elegancia in Mexico City, triumphantly taking home the award for Best European Car. As an exceptionally rare masterpiece of mid-century Italian design, this post-war classic captivated the judges at Las Caballerizas with its exquisite coachwork by Carrozzeria Ghia. Renowned for making unparalleled sophistication appear simple, its clean lines and timeless elegance allowed it to advance all the way to the ultimate final round. Though it narrowly missed the absolute Best of Show to the 1930 Cadillac, the "Super Jewel" was universally celebrated by attendees and judges alike as a breathtaking example of automotive art.
