The 3.8 engine rebuilt to factory specifications matching and calibrated with new pistons, bearings, valves, guides, seals, timing chain, head completely rebuilt, rebuilt carburetors, clutch, all new brake parts, drive shaft balanced, restored shocks, part of the chassis and many other parts refinished in it’s correct finish, new suspension, under carriage rebuilt, new wire harness, gas tank restored and epoxy sealed, rebuilt fuel pump, all electrical components, gauges, knobs, switches rebuilt, rescreened or replaced, top bows and seat frames powder coated, replaced stone guards, new triplex windshield, new drip panels, new exhaust system, rear end completely rebuilt as well as the transmission. Body stripped to bare metal, metal work including the body, doors, bonnet and boot, then fitted to the body, epoxy sealed and painted, color sanded and buffed, new rubber, seals, grommets and gaskets, trim and bright work replaced or replated, new proper interior carpet, panels, dash and seats all redone, fitted with a correct British grain soft top. Lot of time spends on detail and quality throughout the restoration process. One of the finest in the world. This is a very early E-Type with Flat Floors and welded lever bonnet. DVD of the restoration process accompanies the car.
The Open Two Seater (OTS) model has come more generally to be known as the Roadster. The boot lid on the Roadster model consisted of a gently curved panel with the edges turned over a cruciform pressing to add torsional stiffness. This model also had screen pillars that ere given a chrome finishers, chrome trim ran around the base of the screen as well as the top of the doors. Chrome plated door handles, three piece chrome beading around the top and sides of the tonneau panel edge in the number plate area, a ‘JAGUAR’ chrome plated script on the boot lid, and the E-type was fitted with a combined sidelight and indicator unit in a chrome plated casting. The seats were trimmed completely in leather and the cushions were removable.
