Description

(SOLD) An incredible nut and bolt restoration was performed on this spectacular, original, early XK-120 Roadster. During the restoration process the XK-120 was stripped to bare metal, fitted, metal worked, primered, sealed, painted, color sanded and buffed to perfection. All parts were painted individually off of the car. The engine and head were completely re-built to exact factory specifications. All mechanical components, and systems were restored, including the electrical system, cooling system, hydraulic system and fuel system. A new wire loom was installed, and the gauges restored. In doing the complete interior, we fitted and trimmed all the upholstery with all the proper materials for the seats, door panels, carpets, convertible top and Tonneau cover. This was professionally made, tailored fitted, and then installed by our Classic Showcase Trimmers. The car also received all new glass, as well as many other items. This is one of the finest early XK-120’s available in the world today, all numbers match and it comes with a Heritage Certificate of Authenticity. This timeless beauty is a show winner, bringing home First Place trophies in all its showings. The car was restored to the original color combination of Pastel Blue with two-tone French Blue and Gray interior as it states on the Heritage Certificate. The car sits on period correct tires manufactured by Coker Classic Tires. This exceptional Jaguar has been driven less then 100 test miles since the restoration, and a DVD of the restoration process will accompany the car. This special XK-120 is for the discerning Jaguar collector who demands the very best.

History

The XK-120 Roadster was launched in the year 1948 at the London Motor Show and was the fastest car of its era at the time of production. With this specific Jaguars having its limited ownership, pedigree and matching numbers, it was an excellent candidate for restoration. Classic Showcase sold it to a Jaguar collector that commissioned us to do a comprehensive, body-off restoration to the highest show level with no expense being spared. The car scored 99.99 points in several JCNA shows, and was then displayed in the private collector’s climate controlled museum. Recently the car was purchased back by Classic Showcase, and is now available for your collection. This particular Jaguar is the 288th XK-120 built, just after the Alloy body 120, and there probably is not a better one available in the world today. With its spectacular, sleek and elegant body design, this is certainly the very best of the best and a great investment Jaguar to own.
