Description
(SOLD) This 1966 Jaguar XKE Series I 4.2 FHC has recently completed a comprehensive restoration to Show/Driver level by Classic Showcase. Included in the restoration process the vehicle was stripped to bare metal, placed on a rotisserie, metal finished, leaded, all body parts fitted to the car and chrome, prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. It has received a new windshield and door glass. All mechanical systems and components have been gone through, serviced, restored or replaced as needed. The engine and transmission have been rebuilt back to factory specifications as well as the rear end and suspension. All other systems such as the electrical system, hydraulic system, cooling system and fuel system have been restored or replaced and the car received all new rubber and a complete new wire loom. The car has also received a new correct exhaust system, new battery, the gas tank has been epoxy sealed and the radiator has been restored. All chrome was re-plated. The car received a complete new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by our upholstery department. A DVD of the restoration process will accompany the vehicle. It features a factory replacement head, but all other numbers are matching. This Jaguar is an excellent example to drive, enjoy and compete in your favorite Concours.
History
This Series I 4.2 E-type is the most desirable of all the series with a fully synchronized 4 speed transmission, covered headlights, toggle switches on the dash, comfortable bucket seats, center consol, and arm rest. This makes the best driver and the most collectable for an investment grade vehicle.
