Description

(SOLD) Classic Showcase has recently completed a comprehensive, no expense spared restoration to a Show/Driver level. During the all-inclusive restoration process, the vehicle was completely dissembled, the paint was stripped to bare metal, and it was placed on a rotisserie. Our skilled body men metal finished, leaded panels as needed, and performed all body work. They then fit the chrome to the bare metal body to create the final fit to a high level of standard that you see today. All chrome was re-plated. It was then prepared for primer, sealer, paint, base, clear, color sanded and buffed to a fabulous finish. A new wiring harness, battery, grommets, seals, hardware and much more were installed. All systems were gone through, and the engine and transmission were rebuilt back to factory specifications which included magna-fluxing the block and polishing the crank. The head received new valves, guides, seals, tappets, thrush plate, needle rollers, lock tab, retaining rings, thrush washer, woodruff keys, and complete machining back to factory specifications. We installed new pistons and rings, timing chain, oil pump, bearings, and more in the block. The transmission was completely disassembled and a new lay shaft was added along with seals and bearings. The fuel, electrical, cooling, and hydraulic systems were all fully restored. All components were rebuilt back to original requirements, or replaced, including the complete rear end and front suspension. The car received a whole new custom tailored and fit interior in the correct materials by our master upholsterers. The instruments were then rebuilt and reinstalled. Our master technicians had refit all the component systems paying attention to the fine details and to a high level of craftsmanship. This Jaguar has about 100 test miles since the restoration and comes with a DVD of the restoration process. This is truly is a no expense spared restored Jaguar. This fabulous example will compliment any collector’s collection and is ready for the show circuit.

History

The Series I E-type is the most desirable of all the series with a fully synchronized 4 speed transmission, covered headlights, toggle switches on the dash, comfortable bucket seats, center console, and arm rest. This makes the best driver and the most collectable for an investment.
