Description
We’re pleased to offer this beautifully restored, matching-numbers 1967 Jaguar XKE Fixed Head Coupe. This Jaguar underwent a comprehensive, Show/Driver-level restoration performed by our team and is now available for its next chapter! The Coupe retains its original and rare, factory-correct color combination of Opalescent Golden Sand over a Tan interior, as verified by its Jaguar Heritage Certificate and has a truly spectacular look.
The restoration began with a complete disassembly of the vehicle, followed by our meticulous bare-metal rotisserie process. Every body panel was carefully stripped, metal finished, and leaded, with all panels test-fitted to ensure proper alignment and fitment. Once finalized, the body was sealed in primer and underwent a multi-stage paint process that included base coat, clear coat, and a full color sanding and buffing regimen to achieve a concours-level finish. Mechanically, all systems were restored, rebuilt, or replaced as needed. This included a complete overhaul of the engine, transmission, rear differential, and all supporting components. The cooling, fuel, electrical, and hydraulic systems were all gone through in detail to ensure long-term reliability and performance. The suspension and braking systems were fully restored and dialed in for both show and road use.
The E-Type also received a completely new interior crafted by our in-house upholstery department. Using the correct materials, our team custom-tailored the seats, panels, dash, and soft top to factory specifications. All chrome components were refinished or re-plated as needed to complete the presentation. This is a fantastic opportunity to acquire a professionally restored and highly collectible E-Type from Classic Showcase that is an ideal candidate for Concours competition, spirited touring, or as Blue Chip long-term investment. We invite interested collectors to inquire for additional details or to schedule a private viewing today!
History
The Series 1 4.2 is a very user friendly, sporty driver, and one of the most collectable of the E-Types. These are wonderful cars with a 4.2 liter engine with 3 SU carburetors and a fully synchronized transmission. Some of the features of this model are toggle switches, full instrumentation with styling and a design that was way ahead of its time with center console, and arm rests. Other features of this Series 1 are its steep windshield and tail lights, which are placed above the bumper line in the rear deck. Similarly, the parking lights are above the front bumper line in the front fenders. In 1964 when the 4.2 was tested, fuel consumption was rated road reported at 22 MPG and a top speed of 140 MPH.
